Land O' Lakes Maternity Photographer
Soft, glowing pregnancy portraits for Land O' Lakes moms, with gowns from my client wardrobe and backdrops of cypress, pine and still water.

Hello, I'm Mallary. As the maternity photographer Tampa mothers can count on, I work from a studio in New Tampa and travel to the preserves and lakes that make Land O' Lakes so photogenic. If you live off US 41 or SR 54, a session with me fits comfortably into an evening, even with a third trimester schedule full of appointments and nursery projects.
My maternity sessions are designed around how you actually feel at 30-something weeks. You will not need to hunt for a dress, since my client gown wardrobe is included. You will not need to know how to pose either, because I guide every movement. All you have to do is show up, breathe and let me watch for the light.
Why Lake Country Suits Pregnancy Portraits
Few places around Tampa Bay have as much protected land as this corner of Pasco County. Cypress swamps, sandhill ridges and quiet lakes give you backgrounds that feel calm and timeless, and that calm shows on a mom's face. A long gown against dark cypress trunks, or a hand resting on the bump with reeds glowing behind you, is the look many Land O' Lakes moms ask me for.
If you would rather be indoors, the studio gives you clean, minimal maternity portraits and silhouettes with zero mosquitoes. It is the most comfortable choice in the final weeks.
Maternity Photographer Land O' Lakes
Land O' Lakes maternity photography with me is personal from the first message. We talk about how far along you will be, what you want to remember about this pregnancy and whether a partner or older child will join. Then I suggest a location and two or three gowns that suit your coloring and the setting.
On the day, I handle the posing. I adjust your hands, your chin and the angle of your hips so your bump looks its best and you still look like yourself. Partners get simple, natural prompts. Siblings get to be part of the story, whether that is a kiss on the belly or a giggle on your lap.
I am a Black woman-owned business with a 5.0 star Google rating from 143 reviews. 10 Best Photographers named me No. 1 maternity photographer in Tampa for 2026, and Best Tampa Photographers ranked me No. 2 Maternity Photographer in Tampa for 2027. For pose inspiration, see my maternity pose ideas.

Cypress, Sandhill and Lakeside Settings for Your Bump Photos
I offer Studio, Beach, Nature & City, and Couples sessions. Around Land O' Lakes, Nature is the natural choice, and the preserves managed by the Southwest Florida Water Management District give us room to work without crowds. Here are spots that work beautifully for a maternity photoshoot in Land O' Lakes. For a beach session, we head west to the Gulf instead.
How I choose between them depends on you. If you want deep, moody greens and a sense of quiet, Cypress Creek is my first suggestion. If you love warm, open light and a bit of breeze moving your gown, the ridges at Conner Preserve are hard to beat in the last hour of the day. And if water is the dream, the lakes at Lake Park in Lutz give a soft reflection behind you. Later in the third trimester, I keep walks short and choose spots close to parking, so your energy goes into the photos rather than the hike.
Cypress Creek Preserve
Cypress and hardwood forest with a wide paved trail, so walking in a long gown is easy. Cypress Creek itself flows toward the Hillsborough River.
Conner Preserve
Sandhill ridges and marsh edges on SR 52 catch warm side light in the evening. The preserve stays open until 30 minutes after sunset.
Lake Park
Five lakes on 600 acres just south in Lutz. Water behind a flowing gown makes a soft, reflective backdrop.
My New Tampa Studio
Clean backgrounds, silhouettes and air conditioning, with the full gown wardrobe close at hand.
Hospitals, Roads and Communities Around Land O' Lakes
Expecting families in Land O' Lakes often deliver at St. Joseph's Hospital-North in Lutz, where the labor and delivery suites are 418 square feet and a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit with couplet care rooms has been added. AdventHealth Wesley Chapel, with its Baby Place maternity unit, is the other common choice to the east along SR 54.
From Connerton, Bexley, Angeline, Ballantrae, Oakstead or Lake Padgett Estates, getting to the studio is roughly a 20 to 30 minute drive. Most moms take SR 54 east, then SR 56 or Bruce B. Downs Boulevard. The Suncoast Parkway is handy if you live on the west side near Odessa.
I also photograph moms as a Wesley Chapel maternity photographer, offer maternity photos in Carrollwood, and travel north for Spring Hill pregnancy photos.
Local Notes: Names, Numbers and Old Florida
Land O' Lakes is an unincorporated census-designated place in Pasco County with 35,929 residents in the 2020 Census. The name was suggested in 1949 and became official in September 1950, a fitting choice for a landscape dotted with lakes.
Before that, the area drew visitors to Dupree Gardens, a 25-acre botanical garden that opened December 1, 1940 and was known as the Blossom Center of Florida. Today, Conner Preserve alone covers 3,486 acres, and Cypress Creek Preserve covers about 7,400 acres, which is why this area feels greener than most of north Tampa Bay.
Timing, Weather and Comfort for Expecting Moms
Book 4 to 6 weeks ahead and plan the session for 28 to 34 weeks. That window gives you a beautiful, defined bump while you can still walk a trail comfortably. My post on maternity photography costs in Tampa also explains how to budget for prints.
In the warm months, evening golden hour is the only outdoor time I recommend in the preserves. The light is flattering and the air cools a little. From November through March, mornings are lovely too. Collections are Essentials at $400 for five images, Complete at $650 for ten and Premium at $1,150 for twenty, with extra images at $50 each. Visit the maternity investment page and then book your Land O' Lakes session.

Land O' Lakes maternity photography FAQs
Two nearby options are St. Joseph's Hospital-North in Lutz and AdventHealth Wesley Chapel, home of The Baby Place. Choosing where to give birth is personal, but many Land O' Lakes moms find it helpful to finish maternity photos between 28 and 34 weeks, before third trimester appointments start stacking up.
Cypress Creek Preserve on Pump Station Rd has a wide paved multi-use trail, so you won't be stepping over roots or sand in a flowing gown. The cypress and hardwood forest gives steady shade, and the preserve is open sunrise to sunset. I keep our walking short and build in breaks so your feet stay happy.
Conner Preserve spans 3,486 acres with sandhill ridges, marshes, cypress sloughs and pine flatwoods. The open sandhill and pine areas give airy, golden backlight that glows through a sheer gown, while the cypress sloughs feel moody and deep green. Plan a restroom stop beforehand, since the main entrance has none.
Conner Preserve at 22500 SR 52 opens 30 minutes before sunrise, so we can be in place for the first warm light. Sunrise sessions are cooler and calmer, which matters in the third trimester, and the pine flatwoods catch that low light beautifully. We'd simply wrap before the midday heat builds.
Partners and children are welcome. Heritage Park on Land O' Lakes Blvd has open lawns and a walking trail, so a toddler can burn energy between frames while we photograph your bump. I usually start with the family shots while little ones are fresh, then focus on solo portraits once they're ready for a snack.
Lake Park is a 600-acre Hillsborough County park just south of the Pasco line, with five lakes plus cypress swamps and hardwood hammocks. A long gown in blush, ivory or deep green reads beautifully against the water. My client wardrobe is included, and my maternity outfit guide covers more options.
The sweet spot for maternity portraits is 28 to 34 weeks, and I suggest booking 4 to 6 weeks ahead. From Land O' Lakes the drive to my New Tampa studio is roughly 20 to 30 minutes via SR 56 and SR 54 (approximate), so studio dates are easy to fit around work and appointments.
In late summer, Conner Preserve and Cypress Creek Preserve are lush but hot. My New Tampa studio keeps you cool, offers clean, timeless backdrops and is about a 20 to 30 minute drive from Land O' Lakes (approximate). If you love the outdoor look, a sunrise slot at a preserve is the more comfortable choice.
Of course. Land O' Lakes covers ZIP codes 34637, 34638 and 34639, from newer communities like Connerton, Bexley and Angeline to established ones like Oakstead, Ballantrae and Lake Padgett Estates. The local preserves give us plenty of options. If you'd like more choices, my maternity photos in Wesley Chapel page shares a few nearby spots.
Collections start with Essentials at $400 for 5 hand-retouched images, and every session includes the gown wardrobe and guided posing. Cypress Creek Preserve is open sunrise to sunset, so we'd pick a time with soft light under the cypress canopy. Full details are on my maternity investment page.
The marshes and cypress sloughs at Conner Preserve can get buggy in warm months, and the forest at Cypress Creek is similar. Bring a pregnancy-safe repellent you've cleared with your provider, and consider sticking to the paved trail at Cypress Creek, where we can stay out of tall grass and keep your gown clean.
