Hospitals, Neighborhoods and the Roads In
Many expecting families in Wesley Chapel plan to deliver at AdventHealth Wesley Chapel, home to The Baby Place, which has been named to Newsweek's list of America's Best Maternity Hospitals. Others head down the road to St. Joseph's Hospital-North in Lutz, which opened a new Neonatal Intensive Care Unit with couplet care rooms. I mention them only so you know your session location can be close to where you are already driving for appointments.
Whether you live in Seven Oaks, Meadow Pointe, Wiregrass Ranch, Epperson, Watergrass or Lexington Oaks, the trip to the studio is straightforward on Bruce B. Downs Boulevard. If you are coming from the east side near Saddlebrook, SR 54 and Interstate 75 are usually quickest. Pasco County Facts Worth Knowing
Wesley Chapel is an unincorporated census-designated place in Pasco County, with 64,866 residents counted in the 2020 Census and ZIP codes 33543, 33544 and 33545. It began as a settler community in the mid-1800s known as Double Branch, named for two creeks, before taking the name of the local Methodist church.
Today it is better known for the Crystal Lagoon at Epperson, which opened in December 2018 and holds roughly 16 million gallons of water, and for Tampa Premium Outlets, open since October 2015. It is a young, growing community, which is part of why so many pregnancy photos here include a big brother or sister.
Light, Heat and Comfort When You Are Expecting
Pregnancy and Florida heat are not friends. From late spring through early fall I schedule outdoor maternity sessions for the hour before sunset, when the light is warm and flattering and the temperature finally drops. I build in breaks for water and rest, and we can always finish inside the studio if you are uncomfortable.
Winter and early spring are the easiest seasons outdoors here, with lower humidity and softer light most of the day. Whatever the season, your hand-retouched gallery arrives in 1 to 2 weeks. Because the New Tampa studio is roughly 10 to 20 minutes from Wesley Chapel, it's an easy choice when heat or swelling makes outdoor posing tough. The client gown wardrobe is right there, and we can switch looks in minutes without walking anywhere in the heat.
